Crete is the largest of the Greek islands and the fifth largest island in the Mediterranean Sea. In Crete, there are many beautiful beaches laying across the sparkling sea, others velvety soft and sandy and others pebbly. Four different pebbly and sandy beaches in the protected bay of Bali!
Also, Crete is mountainous, but these mountains gifted Crete with fertile plateaus, caves and impressive gorges. The environment is rocky, but breathtaking. Ancient Crete had dense forests, but ancient minoan people deforest them, in order to built their powerful commercial fleet! Bali was the harbor of the ancient town Axos. Unfortunately, there is no ruin left.
Cretan winter is fairly mild, although there is snow on the mountains between November and May. The spring is full of nature’s colors and scents and autumn is the grapes’ and wine’s season. In summer, the Greek golden sun is smiling, the sea sparkles and the sweet breeze passes.
